Here are some suggestions of ways you can get involved...

Corporate Support and Sponsorship
If you run a Charity of the Year partnership and you feel that our values align with yours, we would be delighted if you would nominate us as your partner.
We could organise year-long, unique opportunities that help demonstrate your company’s commitment to making a difference. Or, you might simply wish to make a donation, financial or otherwise to Horticap, and there are several ways of doing this.
- Setting up payroll giving, provides your employees with a way of donating money without paying tax on it.
- Match funding is an excellent way of demonstrating a commitment to your staff who support us through their own fundraising efforts, by matching their donation.
- Gifts in kind - we would be delighted to receive any donations of gardening and kitchen equipment, tools, office items, art and craft materials etc.
- Pro bono support could provide us with your technical or professional support, where we don’t currently have the expertise inhouse.

Simon Cotton, Managing Director of the Fat Badger Group, has been a valued supporter and friend of Horticap for several years. Alongside his fundraising efforts, he plays an important role as an ambassador, championing our work within the community.
“I wanted to give something back locally, and we support a number of charities in the area. Horticap delivers something truly special – it changes lives. I’m incredibly proud to be involved, and it’s always a joy to visit and spend time with the students.”

Through our partnerships, we change lives.
Banks Group, proud to support Horticap
“Supporting Horticap is something we’re really proud of at Banks Group.
We first got involved back in 2020 because we wanted to work more closely with local organisations that make a genuine, lasting difference - and Horticap really stood out.
The work they do to support people with learning disabilities, helping them build skills, confidence and independence felt like a natural fit for us and what we believe in.
For us, supporting Horticap is a meaningful way to give something back.
By working with a charity that creates opportunities and helps people grow in confidence and independence, we know we’re contributing to something that really matters in our communities.
It’s about making a positive, long-term difference and supporting people to reach their potential.
Over the years, it’s been brilliant to see that impact first-hand and watch how that support helps people grow and thrive.
Horticap’s focus on gardening, green spaces and the environment also lies closely with our own values, which makes the partnership feel even more natural.
It’s a partnership we genuinely value, and we’re really happy to continue being part of it!”

Creating Social Impact
Our students love our associations with like-minded companies, as Hannah explains.
“It’s very helpful that people from other companies come here to help us with our work, and they bond doing it as well, which is nice for them, I feel. They are very helpful as well!”
Partnering with us supports our students in the following ways:
- Helps provide the resources needed to undertake horticultural training.
- Allows students to showcase their talents.
- Creates opportunities to meet and work alongside a wide range of different people, supporting inclusion.
- Builds their confidence, along with social and communication skills.
- Ensures that days at Horticap are worthwhile, enjoyable and fun.
- Helps Horticap provide a sustainable future for our students so that we can continue to be here for them.

Mel Fulcher from Primeast talks about how volunteering at Horticap brings many benefits to their organisation
“Our team have spent around 150 hours volunteering at Horticap and every minute has been worthwhile.
We worked alongside the students creating wreaths and hanging baskets to sell in the garden centre to support their charitable work.
We actively engage with organisations like Horticap, dedicating our time and resources to non-profit organisations and social enterprises, so that we can contribute to positive social change”.

Corporate Volunteering at Horticap
Allow Horticap to work our magic on staff wellbeing!
Volunteering days spent with us can help build team engagement and morale, creating a genuine connection and sense of pride in supporting a local cause.
Horticap is a busy and happy place to work, with lots of activities to be involved in, from clearing areas in the garden to making hanging baskets and wreaths. We have a unique working environment in which to nurture positive emotional health and wellbeing. We make it as easy as possible to be involved.
Be inspired by our students, and work alongside probably the best workforce anywhere. Your team will learn so much from our students, and will love being part of something special. It’s a powerful combination!

Michelle Bell from Titan Wealth said
“Taking part in helping to create the art room garden was very rewarding for our team. It was great to step away from our usual roles, work together in a completely different setting, and contribute to a project that will have lasting value. We especially appreciated the chance to meet the students, learn more about the work you do, and see first hand the positive impact Horticap has on the people it supports. The day gave us a real sense of connection to the local community and reinforced the importance of giving back. It was inspiring, uplifting, and something our team will remember for a long time”.
